Welcome to Room 407!
I hope that you are as excited for sixth grade as I am! This is going to be one incredible year. We have a lot planned and many amazing new ideas to learn about. Get your thinking caps on! I am looking forward to getting to know each and everyone of you this year.
Mrs. Gheysen, Ms. Garner, Mrs. Sircher, and I work closely together to ensure that we provide an environment where every student can blossom this year. We hold high expectations for our students academically, as well as in personal responsibility, organization, and socially. We expect all students to create a classroom where all students can learn comfortably this year. Throughout this year, students will not only learn academic skills, but also study skills, organization skills, and reading and math strategies. These skills will propel our students for many years to come.
We also believe that parents are a key component to their child's academic team. Throughout the year, please feel free to contact us with comments, questions, or concerns that you may have regarding your child. By working together, we will achieve far more for your child! We look forward to developing a relationship with you this year.
A Little About Me:
I live in Grayslake with my husband, my new daughter Evelyn, and my dog Mopar. I enjoy spending my free time curled up with a great book, especially ones that my students recommend. Baseball parks and local landmarks spur my interests in traveling. I graduated from Northern Illinois University with a degree in elementary and special education. In 2009, I completed my Master's Degree through Benedictine University in Reading and Literacy.
