Introducing our SOAR Program!
WHAT?-- SOAR stands for be SAFE, take OWNERSHIP, and ALWAYS be RESPECTFUL. It is a proative program involving teaching and re-teaching Frederick's expectations, and noticing and encouraging positive behaviors. These behaviors are encouraged through students earning Frederick Falcon Feather tickets that they may enter to become a "Falcon of the Week", to win incentives or to win VIP seating at an assembly.
Why?--At Frederick we strive to create and maintain a social culture that allows each student to achieve social, emotional, and academic success. Our SOAR program is designed with the research-based PBIS (Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports) system to do just that.
Who?--Every Frederick student and staff member is part of the SOAR rogram.Fromthe bus drivers to the Principal.Every staff member is looking for and encouraging positive behaviors by handing out Feather tickets.
Where?--Whether a student is on the bus, in their classroom, or eating lunch, clearly defined SOAR expectations are posted in every area of the school and on every bus.
When?--From the moment a student steps on the bus to the moment they step off, the SOAR program is a part of their day.
