Spread the awareness, not the germs!
The H1N1 or swine flu has been in the news. Although we do not have any reported cases in the district at this time, there are three easy ways to help prevent a flu illness. The three C's to remember are:
Clean your hands with soap and water regularly. Be sure to clean the "hot spot" areas between your fingers and at the cuticles. Wash for at least one minute. Be sure to have your child and family members wash their hands upon arriving home from school or work. Be sure to wash your hands before and after eating. Wash your hands (of course) after using the bathroom.
Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue. Sneeze or cough into the curve of your elbow instead of into the open air.
Contain yourself...stay home if you are ill so you do not spread germs to others or risk picking up more germs yourself.
It is recommended that anyone six months or older receive a flu shot. Speak to your physician to determine what is right for you and your family.
