ALLERGY ACADEMY 101:
What does anaphylactic allergy mean?
The word anaphylaxis is a SEVERE reaction to a substance or food to which a person has an extreme sensitivity.
Symptoms may include a rash, difficulty breathing with the throat closing, vomiting, or swelling. These are ALL life-threatening and can happen within seconds when in contact with the allergen.
Not all allergies are of the same severity, but as time goes on, symptoms can increase. At CCSD 46, our goal is prevention, and always for the safety of our staff and students.
